This made me cackle
This commercial was just DYING to be parodied. Surprised SNL didn't jump on it. They did a funny parody of that creepy "My 5" AT&T commercial.
Sashay Barbie!
Speaking of Fashion Week (Feb. 13th-20th) Barbie is turning 50 and is getting her own runway show!"For her 50th birthday, Barbie creators decided to stage a full-scale Barbie fashion show During New York Fashion Week in February with 50 designers creating life-size outfits inspired by the doll. Although the names of the designers have yet to be announced, Christian Louboutin has confirmed that he will be designing pumps in Barbie's favorite shade of pink to be worn with each of his outfits.
In addition, Bloomingdale's will dress up the windows of its New York flagship store during fashion week with Barbie dolls.
I guess there is one trend we can already sense in the upcoming fashion week - it will be pink with everything. Blonds with perfect bodies will continue to rule, as always."
Why cant I be 5'8"?? Or even 5'7"?? I would be allll over this
Also, I think it's funny that Barbie originated from a 1959 cartoon in German gentleman's magazine (Bild-Zeitung) named "Lilli." She was a symbol of sex and pornography for the men of Germany. And she became an icon for little girls all over the world!
New York News

I've got some fabulous things coming up in the way of New York City events.
I will be doing some Fashion Week events, however my team is taking it to Brooklyn!! The venue is so new the name is yet to be determined. GBH hosted a New Years event there with a crazy line-up of electro-rock dj's & bands (Crystal Castles.) However I've been inside while they're working on construction and it's so fab!
Exciting! Stay tuned for more details.
Oh, hai...
Just getting over being sick. The weather is nasty so it doesn't really help. My ears are oddly clogged - halfway. I hear everything in double. It's like a fly sound. It's annoying.
I don't understand the trends at my school... this girl had ridiculous dyke hair. I don't mean to offend anyone with that (as there are some really stylish lezbots out there) but this girl was an abomination. Short hair can be really sassy and stylish but this was just sad.
The only picture I could find that closely resembled it:

Except hers wasn't spikey in the back and it was orangey-mustard colored on top, and brown in the back. I'll take a picture next time, hehe.
Also there are lots of Uggs, facial piercings, Abercrombie, bad dye jobs, bell bottoms, and puffy jackets. I don't really get it, the best way to describe it is "Jersey Trash." Was that a little harsh? It's all I can hear in my head when I walk down the hall.

Also I saw some kid in a wheelchair with a Helper Dog. Except instead of the usual Labrador or Golden Retriever, it was a really cute black Standard Poodle. My eyes lit up when I saw it, however the kid in the wheelchair thought I was looking at him and he smiled and started staring at me creepily. Is it bad that I care more about the dog than the special needs dude? I mean, he wasn't blind, and he was wheeling himself... I just didn't understand.
Also, one of my favorite shows (as it combines fashion, society, alcoholism, drugs, and humor) is finally going through with an American remake. (HUGE SIGH)
Remakes never work - The Office only worked because of Steve Carrell. Coupling bombed.
However it might work, as Jennifer Saunders (Edina) is on the writing staff. The show ended because they ran out of new situations for the characters. This may be an opportunity for some fresh Saunders humor. I'll be watching with judging eyes...
